Are you ready to wake up and live up to the immense potential of this rare and precious moment? It’s inspiring and humbling to know this is the most significant decade humanity has ever faced, with our choices impacting every generation to come. To go far this decade, we must make significant gains this year. To make significant gains this year, we must make something worthy of each day. By building mindful daily momentum amidst the static and confusion, we stay clear on what matters and where to place effort and attention. What matters is nurturing community by waking to the deep need of now and living our potential.
We do this by feeding a direct connection between inspired daily actions and our vision of rich, resilient neighborhoods able to adapt and thrive through turbulent change. Resilience comes through nurturing social structures and rebuilding landscape stores of wealth, productivity and stability. There is an indivisible reciprocity between regenerating our own capacities and healing our connection to nature from backyards and parking strips to pastures, meadows and forests.
Last fall in a packed room of 500 leaders and citizens at our Ripple the World Breakfast, Sebastopol Council member Larry Robinson called Daily Acts “…the face of the 21st century environmental movement.” Congratulations to you, because our face is your face. From backyard solutions to policy changes and city landscape transformations, you truly power our achievements. Relative to society, our networks are few in numbers, but our inspired action and voice of leadership are critical to the transformation urgently required. Many of you are mayors, council members, city staff, teachers, directors, and business owners. Maybe you’re here just because you’re inspired. Regardless of fame or position, you lead with how you live, infecting others with your inspiration and integrity through small, often unseen acts that matter immensely. Daily Acts is here to encourage, nurture and push you to live your potential through choices rooted in nature’s wisdom and care of relations.
For this, we invite you to revel in the heart-filled work of some of Northern California’s finest SOULutionaries. By highlighting brilliant people and sharing exciting models, we soak in what a vibrant, resilient culture can be and experience how to cultivate the simple but powerful relationships, actions and ideas to make it so. Each event features eco-savvy solutions shared by passionate citizens and green leaders, not to mention the amazing attendees you meet and befriend. Together we learn, share and act, turning city lawns into food forests, planting backyard edible ecosystems, creating greywater systems and transforming our lives through the power of community aligned in acts of care and celebration. In neighborhoods, schools, council chambers, and newspapers, we are planting local self reliance rooted in ecological resilience. But your actions and these models ripple much farther, reaching
seekers around the world ready to engage in, learn from and share hopeful SOULutions.
So are you ready to come alive, shine and live up to the potential of this time? Then join us as we sow, grow, harvest and share our bounty; slow, spread, sink and reuse our water; retrofit, renew, and
remake our lives to reconstitute our contribution to the healthy, just world being born.
xoxo
